“Yellow Tail” Wine Brand Introduces a 500₮ Bottle Return Program

Max Exim LLC has become the first importing company in Mongolia to implement a bottle return initiative, in accordance with Article 40.6 of the Law on Waste of Mongolia. This regulation requires producers and importers to establish a system for collecting and managing waste generated from their products and packaging, including reuse, recycling, recovery, disposal, export, and other stages of the product life cycle, while making this information publicly accessible.

The Yellow Tail wine brand from Australia is exported and sold in more than 50 countries worldwide and is also the best-selling wine in the United States.

Because glass bottles can take around 1,000 years to decompose in nature, Max Exim LLC, together with the Hog Bish Bayalag NGO, is collecting used Yellow Tail wine bottles from consumers for 500 MNT per bottle as part of the “Hope for a Waste-Free Future” project.

Returned bottles are accepted at the following three locations in Ulaanbaatar:

Chingeltei District, 16th Khoroo, Zavsaar 3rd bus stop
Chingeltei District, 12th Khoroo, Narantuul Market bus stop
Chingeltei District, 7th Khoroo, along the road from Zuragt to Denjiin 1000

Through this initiative, Yellow Tail wine bottles are being collected and directed toward proper recycling and reuse, contributing to a more sustainable environment.

In 2023, Max Exim LLC signed a memorandum of understanding with Hog Bish Bayalag NGO as part of their bilateral cooperation. In the same year, the organization launched the “Let’s Make Mongolia Waste-Free” project, aiming to establish waste collection and recycling sites across all 21 provinces of Mongolia. Max Exim LLC is supporting and collaborating with this initiative as part of its commitment to environmental sustainability.

The Yellow Tail brand’s annual “Let’s Travel Colorfully” photography contest is being organized for the fourth year. This year’s campaign is held under the theme “Travel Colorfully, Waste-Free”, encouraging participants to contribute to environmentally friendly actions and help protect nature and the planet.
